Member Spotlight on Tami McBride
"Having dealt with weight
issues for most of my adulthood, in 2003, I focused on making changes to
gain control once and for all. My overall health was beginning to
decline. I had sleep apnea and migraines. My blood pressure was
borderline problematic and my cholesterol was on the rise, not to mention
aches and pains. I was beginning to risk my overall health."
"A key factor in my
transformation was adding exercise to my daily routine. This
addition, along with guidance from my physician and nutritionist, has had
a great impact on my success. Since late 2003 I’ve worked out
approximately 6 days a week focusing on a blended cardio and weight
training program. I’ve lost 104 pounds, my cholesterol is 125, and
I no longer suffer from migraines. My sleep apnea is gone and aches
and pains have been traded for occasional sore muscles - the good pain as
a result of working hard! From an emotional standpoint I've always
appeared to be a confident woman regardless of size; however, these
changes have permitted me to solidify my confidence from the inside
out."
"I’m grateful for my circle of friends at Cordova Athletic Club. We
encourage one another a great deal; however, personal accountability and
sticking with it over the long term is what it’s all about."
